Contains a response to the Saints At War questionnaire providing details regarding Nilsen's health, correspondence with his family, and the role religion played in his military service. Also includes a hand-written account of his training and assignment to command a landing craft scheduled to be in the first assault wave at Omaha Beach, Normandy, France. Provides details of the horrific carnage present on the beaches during D-Day. Also includes a summary of his service in the LDS church following the war. Photograph shows Nilsen in full military dress.
